Arkansas saw a 16% increase in traffic fatalities in the first quarter of 2020 compared to previous years. This comes as a surprise because during this time, Americans were driving less and the number of miles driven was also less than in previous years.

All across America, we are seeing a pattern of speed increases, and officials say that this is a major culprit in the increase of accidents and fatalities during this time. In Los Angeles, the average 5 PM speed jumped from 39 mph to 61 mph during the first two weeks in April.

Because of these statistics and the time of the year, it is important to keep safety precautions in mind while driving anywhere this summer. Because, according to AAA, the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day are the 100 deadliest days for young drivers. Crashes that involve teen drivers kill 10 people a day during the summer months – a 14 percent increase compared to the rest of the year.

Summer Safety Driving Tips

Getting into a lane-splitting accident can be a lot to handle, but doing the right things right away can help you get the compensation you deserve. What you do immediately after the crash will help protect your rights and ensure you have what you need to build a strong case.

Here’s what you should do:

  • See a doctor: Even if you feel okay, please get a complete check-up. Some injuries don’t show up immediately but can cause problems later.
  • Talk to a lawyer soon: Reach out to a motorcycle accident lawyer as quickly as possible. They can help you understand the legal stuff, protect what’s right for you, and deal with the insurance people.
  • Keep track of your health: Write down any pain, treatments you get, or changes in how you feel over time. It can help your case.
  • Save what you can: If you can, take pictures of where the crash happened and how the vehicles are damaged, and get contact info for anyone who saw it. This information can be a big help for your lawyer.

The moments after an accident can be tough, but your actions can make a big difference in your claim. Connecting with a motorcycle accident lawyer early means you’ll have someone caring and experienced to guide you and start building your case right away.
